You Still Have Time to Host a Meatout Event

Is your community represented in the world's largest annual grassroots diet education campaign?

Please visit our Events page to find out, then sign up on the Registration page to receive free display & handout materials.

Meatout is right around the corner… on March 20th, but you can get active any time throughout the month of March.

Here are some quick and easy ways to host a Meatout event:

* Send Meatout e-cards with the Meatout message and your personal greetings to your family and friends.

* Host a Meatout Snack at your school, workplace, or social event by picking up some vegan snack foods.

* Arrange a Food Sampling to make visitors aware of the delicious meat & dairy alternatives available in stores.

* Set up an Information Table or an Exhibit at your local library, park, university, or any other busy public spot.

*Arrange a Video Screening of "Healthy You, Healthy Planet" (available from us) or "An Inconvenient Truth" (rent or buy), and explain the link between animal agriculture and global warming.

Meatout 2007 is co-sponsored by In Defense of Animals, SoyBoy, E-Magazine, Vegetarian Times, PETA, Vegan Outreach, & Mercy for Animals.

Please take a look at the 2006 photo gallery, review the detailed Action Center page, then register your event, even if your plans are only tentative.

Equal Justice Alliance Seeks Volunteers

Equal Justice Alliance (EJA) is a coalition of animal and other social justice groups spearheaded by FARM to protect freedom of speech and assembly for activists by defeating the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA).

AETA brands animal activists as 'terrorists,' abridges our freedom of speech and assembly, and is exceptionally broad, vague, and contradictory. It cleared Congress in a controversial, underhanded maneuver, catching most Members unaware.

We are creating a supportive climate for animal activism in the federal legislative and legal communities through legal and public conferences and through Congressional briefings and personal visits.

Here are some ways you can help:

* Promote the Equal Justice Alliance by distributing our promo cards at local events. Contact EJA Promo.

* Get your organization to join EJA by contacting EJA membership.

* As an attorney, ask your local bar association to draft a statement opposing AETA. Contact EJA Legal for guidance.

* As an attorney or a law student, arrange a forum about AETA.  Contact EJA Legal for guidance.

* Become our Congressional Coordinator polling Members of Congress on their position on AETA and maintaining a contact database.

* Become our Media Coordinator sending news releases on EJA activities and soliciting interviews.

* Become our Website Coordinator updating the EJA website periodically.

Please visit the EJA website to learn more about AETA and how to support our campaign. If you're an attorney, please contact our Executive Director.
