Meatout Events Smash All Past Records
Activists distributed 50,000 Meatout cards offering a free Veg Kit and the colorful weekly Meatout Mondays e-newsletter. Throughout the month, FARM mailed 2,000 Veg Kits to inquirers.
More than 60 colleges participated with exhibits, tables, and veg cafeteria lines. Nearly 150 animal shelters and health food stores and restaurants offered vegetarian literature to visitors. Hundreds of bus cards are carrying the Meatout message in major cities. Billboards are in the works.

We plan to use this opportunity to publicize the impact of animal agriculture on the global warming crisis by pointing out that "Cows Cause More Than Cars." These giant 22x11-foot billboards, confer a sense of power and mainstream acceptance. They are are seen by thousands for a month or more, and bring hundreds of inquiries. Join FARM's Vegan Earth Day Campaign We invite you to join FARM's Earth Day Campaign by arranging an educational event in your community on or about April 22nd.
Last year, our members distributed 10,000 cards at Earth Day events across the U.S. This year's observance is co-sponsored by E/Environmental Magazine. Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich as well as performers Alicia Silverstone and Heather Mills are expected.

In the past three months, we published nearly 500 letters to the editor on six topics in more than 200 papers. The topics included new year's resolutions, cancer (general and breast), environment, global warming, lent, and Meatout.

FARM Heroes This space features key supporters of FARM and the animal rights movement.
Jen Riley, FARM's Program Director, joined the staff as Office Manager in 2004. A vegetarian since age 12 and now a vegan, she became active after college. In addition to interning at Farm Sanctuary, Jen ran several fund raising and educational events and volunteered for local animal shelters and rescues.
Rich McLellan is founder of the League of Humane Voters - CA and a pioneer of political involvement on behalf of animals. Whenever not on duty as a trauma surgeon at a Los Angeles hospital, Rich is busy cultivating California legislators. What is FARM FARM is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) public interest group that advocates vegan eating and supports humane treatment of farmed animals.
