AR2007 Conference Sets New Records

More than 800 participants from throughout the U.S. and a record-breaking ten countries attended the Animal Rights 2007 National Conference held July 19-23 in Los Angeles. Thanks to our expanded promotion, unprecedented numbers of visitors also attended the free exhibits and were introduced to vegan and animal rights messages.

A record 100+ speakers from 70 groups presented in 120 sessions. Nearly 90 organizations exhibited their literature, food and merchandise.

More than 50 documentaries of animal abuse and protective actions were screened, including three premiere showings. This year's highlight was a series of workshops on the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.

Order your AR2007 recordings to hear your favorite sessions and the one's you missed. They also make a great gift for friends and family!

Thanks to our co-sponsors: In Defense of Animals, The Vegan Sage, ACT Radio, Animal People, E/Environmental Magazine, Purely Decadent Ice Cream, Ragazzi Vegan, Vegetarian Times, VegNews Magazine, and more.

AR2007 Presents Hall of Fame & Activist Awards

James LaVeck & Jenny Stein and Kevin Kjonaas were elected to the prestigious U.S. Animal Rights Hall of Fame by AR2007 speakers.

James and Jenny met Eddie Lama at the Animal Rights 1997 Conference. The resulting award-winning documentary "The Witness" chronicled Eddie's transformation into an animal rights activist. They have since produced "Peaceable Kingdom" addressing the tragedy of animal agriculture.

Kevin founded and led SHAC USA, devoted to exposing and stopping animal cruelty at New Jersey's Huntington Life Sciences Laboratory. He is currently serving a six-year sentence, under the Animal Enterprise Protection Act, along with five colleagues, for posting anti-HLS information on their website. The sentence is under appeal.

Vegetarian Society of DC president Saurabh Dalal received the newly renamed Henry Spira Grassroots Activist Award. Henry Spira, who died in 1998, is renowned for pioneering grassroots activism in the U.S. animal rights movement.

Saurabh was celebrated for his transformation of a local vegetarian group into one of the world's largest and most active vegetarian societies and for his volunteer consulting for several national animal rights organizations, including FARM.

Musicians Tom Scholz and John Feldmann received the Celebrity Animal Advocates Awards (see side panel).

Act Now! Bite Global Warming Day is Aug 18th

There's still time to get active for Bite Global Warming Day on (or around) August 18th. Don't wait to address this hot issue!

Participate by distributing our colorful postcards (on left), placing our posters and more. Our favorite locations are rallies for presidential candidates or similar events likely to raise the awareness of decision-makers. The benefits of a vegan diet must be recognized as a key part of the solution to the global warming crisis.

This space features key supporters of FARM and the animal rights movement.

Tom Scholz founded the famed rock band BOSTON in 1976, after a recording he cut in his basement studio became the highest selling debut album ever. Tom received the Celebrity Animal Advocate Award at AR2007.

John Feldmann, lead singer & guitarist of Goldfinger, is a vegan animal rights activist. He promotes the vegan message through his music. A strong supporter of SHAC, he performs at benefit concerts on be-half of Kevin Kjonaas. John received the Celebrity Animal Advo-cate Award at AR2007.
